Your deity photos are wonderful, Aishwarya. Such beautiful deities! Their Tulasi garlands are truly a work of love, too. The temple in Bangalore is also extremely attractive and a testament to the devotion of the vaishnavas who begged Sri Krsna to bring it to being. Thank you for posting the photos. Please do post more when the time is right.

Well, I checked out the website and alot more, in fact, I stayed up half the night reading about the past 30 years of ISKCON. I'm shocked! Sure, I had heard some of the dirt before, but I didn't realize just how bad things had deteriorated. No wonder I can't find any of my old godbrothers from the '70s. I wasn't aware that Kavicandra and Prahladananda were included in the long list of initiating "gurus". I used to know them both. Seems like all the devotees I respected most have passed away or gone away. Guess I'll keep to myself, chant japa, and keep reading my old, unchanged Srila Prabhupada books. Please stay in touch. Hare Krsna. Please accept my humble obeisances. Thank you for answering my questions. When I asked you how many "authorized gurus" are there in ISKCON, I didn't mean to suggest that Srila Prabhupada had appointed them. Rather, I meant how many had been approved by the GBC.

Do you know Bima Prabhu, in Mumbai? I met him in St. Louis in '74, shortly after I had joined the Radha Damodara TSKP. We went out on book distribution together a few times. Back in those days, one of the big problems in the movement was that the Radha Damodara TSKP was attracting brahmacaris from many temples. Devotees were leaving their temples to join the more austere but adventurous lifestyle of traveling with brahmacaris and sanyasis, sometimes performing harinama at colleges distributing prasadam and chanting all day, and sometimes out on book distribution. The point is some temple presidents would complain to Srila Prabhupada about this and other things, but Srila Prabhupada always very expertly resolved every issue. Somehow he was able to keep the society of devotees united.

I was just reading the article about ISKCON Bangalore winning independence from ISKCON Mumbai. I've been out of ISKCON since '78 due to my own foolishness, but have never agreed with the idea that the movement's young leaders should suddenly be considered pure devotees to be worshipped as gurus, like Srila Prabhupada. Prabhupada used to talk about the blind leading the blind. Can you tell me something about ISKCON today? How many authorized gurus are there within ISKCON? Who are they? How does ISKCON regard Srila Narayana Maharaja? Do all other ISKCON temples follow the guru rules?
I hope you are well and happy in Krsna consciousness. I plan to travel throughout India in 1-2 yrs. I hope to visit Bangalore. By Krsna's mercy maybe I'll get a chance to meet you and see the wonderful deities there. All glories to Srila Prabhupada!!
