About Me:: I'm 39 and work in the mental health field. I first learned of the Hare Krishna Movement when a Sunday Feast card fell out of an old book I was looking at in a thrift store. I wrote to the Boston ISKCON Temple and received a reply from a lovely young woman named Kamesi Devi Dasi. That was about 20 years ago. While I envied the peace and joy of the devotees, and found Krishna to be so beautiful, I didn't think at the time that Krishna Consciousness was for me. But I never forgot Krishna. When my son was born 7 years ago, I noticed that when he got upset a reddish "tilak" would appear on his forehead. That really got me to thinking about Krishna again. Then when my daughter was born 4 years later, I pulled out the few Krishna books that I had because I wanted so much to share Him with her. I've been chanting for about 2 1/2 years and studying Bhagavad-Gita with Sankarshan Das Adhikari via the internet. I hope one day to be initiated into Krishna's service.

Favorite Music:: Anything to do with Krishna.

What am I looking for:: I'd like to hear about other people's experiences in Krishna Consciousness and also about raising children to love and appreciate Krishna.

Favorite Temples:: I've only ever been to the temple in Boston.

My father expired on 5th December 2004. He was an insurance consultant and I didn't like that business. After his death I couldn't do anything and was confused. I went to Vrindavan. In Iskon Temple, all of a sudden I felt a hand on my shoulder and believe me I was blank. No one was there around. I was afraid and immediately left that place and came back to my home around 175 Km away. Some power was dealing with me and I destroyed all records of my father's business and I was ZERO. With that feel I started again from Zero and after 4 years I have become someone in this field. From that every month I go to Vrindavan ISKON Temple and thanks to Lord Krishna to show me the way. Even now sometimes I feel a hand around my shoulder. I always pray to Lord to keep his hand on it.
